Discovered animals appear before dinosaurs

A cat-sized, three-footed creature that once existed on Earth first appeared about 250 million years ago and can evolve into a tyrant dinosaur, a bird of prey Velociraptor (a dinosaurs existed at the end of the Cretaceous, about 83 to 70 million years ago) as well as other dreadful dinosaurs.

At a location in the southern Holy Cross mountains, researchers found footprints that showed animals ' dinosaurs ' appeared for the first time about 250 million years ago, only 1 , 4 million years after the occurrence of the most serious extinction event forming the boundary between the Permi and the Triassic, catastrophic events that made more than 90% of marine species and more than 75% of land species available. The backbone is extinct.

The researchers will publish in the Proceedings of the Royal Society B that 2 cm long footprints belong to Prorotodactylus on four legs. Each leg has only 3 prominent fingers. However, this animal will soon evolve into a 3-footed theropod dinosaur, standing upright - walking the beast that will occupy the planet for the next 150 million years - until another catastrophic event make them extinct.
