Archaeologists in Zhejiang (China) have unearthed 708 archeological artifacts from tombs in Xiaoshan district, Hangzhou province.

>>>China: Tens of thousands of heritage "disappear"

These ancient tombs were discovered in March 2011 after the ancient grave-digger left a trace.

The artifacts found date back quite far from today, from the Shang Dynasty (Chinese feudal dynasty from 1766 to 1122 BC) and the Zhou Dynasty (1122-21 period).

The person in charge of Xiaoshan museum in Hangzhou, Mr. Shi Jianong, said the artifacts were found from 45 ancient tombs made of ceramics and porcelain.

These are considered important artifacts for the research work of scientists to find the origin and skill of making pottery and porcelain of ancient Chinese people.

In addition, these ancient tombs also played an important role in the study of the burial custom of the ancients from the Shang and Zhou dynasties.
