Discovering new orchids only in Vietnam
A new scientific orchid called Dendrobium farinatum is recognized as a native orchid species in Vietnam, never before found in any other country and scientists have officially confirmed the ecological zone in Khanh Hoa.
On September 20, exchanging with PV, Mr. Truong Quang Tam - Institute of Tropical Biology (Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology) - said this orchid has been announced by German scientists when it was imported. Unofficially from Vietnam to Germany.

However, because the source of inflows into Germany is not directly collected in the forest, they do not know exactly the ecological distribution. Until the research cooperation program between the Institute of Tropical Biology, Hon Ba Nature Reserve and the Botanical Garden of Prague conducted the survey, the position of the upper orchid species in Hon Ba Nature Reserve was discovered ( Khanh Hoa, at an altitude of 1,200-1,500m).
This is also the first time Dendrobium farinatum is officially recognized in the natural environment in Vietnam.
According to Tam, scientifically speaking, this could be a genetic source to help farmers create species of economic value. Initial investigation results in flowering in July of the year.
The research team is conducting further surveys to assess the distribution and ecology of this orchid species in nature to provide a conservation solution for Vietnam's endemic orchid species.
