Dissecting the Google culture

Not only people, Googleplex itself is also representative of creativity. Buildings have been restructured towards environmental friendliness. Solar energy is used to the maximum extent, offices are brightly lit by a glass-walled wall that employees still refer to as " glass rubic cubes ".
Along the corridors leading into the hall are oversized white boards, for freelance employees to rewrite "unexpected" ideas. Outside the campus, they toyed with scooter scooters issued by the company, or sunbathed on comfortable chairs, underneath the colorful umbrella.

The initiative touches an area where most businesses forget, or deliberately ignore: Food . The Googleplex has all 11 cafes, each in a building. All have head chefs, and the taste and style are designed to suit the employees who work in the building the most.
This year, Google has just opened Cafe180, a cafe that supports local agriculture when only consuming agricultural products for a 180-mile radius around the Googleplex.
Recruitment culture
Google culture is maintained and preserved through a rigorous, rigorous recruitment process, just like the admissions procedures of prestigious universities. Applicants do not even need to apply. As long as they stand out in a certain area, Google's head hunter will automatically knock on the door.
Experience and scoring are essentials, but most importantly, the candidate must have "Google" in him, says cultural director Stacy Sullivan. " They are not traditional people, they have different points ".
Each candidate is interviewed by a committee of at least 5 people. They were swirled in a series of questions to test the candidate's ability to solve problems. Having the right answer is unlikely to be won, and answering wrongly, is not necessarily a disaster.
Abraham Egnor, 25, was recruited to Google three months ago. He has a very "Google" appearance. As he went to work, Egnor let his long, black hair fall down on his back, and his black T-shirt, panty pants, sandal and knuckles and went into his office.

" The interview process is very sweet, " Egnor recalled. " A man in the council looked at me like he wanted to eat and feed me questions and ask questions. He said, Man, you don't have a university degree, so how do I know where your level is? I replied: There are many things I have not learned yet, of course I do not know .
Exporting corporate culture
Another job applicant told the interviewers from Google: his worst personality is lazy and irritable. And so he was not recruited.
" We only choose those who like to solve difficult problems, difficult problems, rather than those who are satisfied or postponed." Oh, I will do it after 30 years. "" Mr. Laszlo Bock, Deputy Google's HR Chairman said.
Even after being accepted to work, employees still need to cultivate their knowledge continuously. The company regularly invites celebrities to give presentations at the Googleplex, just like a university invites a professor to lecture.
During a recent visit, Executive Director Eric Schmidt hosted a discussion on women and the war with two guests - Gloria Steinem and Jane Fonda. In the back, a braided hairstylist stood silently, on her finger was an immense African gray parrot.
With so many branch offices open globally, Sullivan says the biggest challenge is how to " export the corporate culture at the Googleplex " to other places. Many solutions are offered, such as choosing a number of long-time employees, a " Google Ambassador " veteran or setting up video clips that illustrate " What is a Google employee ".
