Drinking alcohol modulates a lower risk of asthma
According to research by Danish scientists presented at the annual meeting of the European Respiratory Association in Amsterdam, drinking alcohol with moderate amounts may reduce the risk of asthma.

The team studied 19,349 twins between the ages of 12-41. All of these subjects completed a questionnaire at the beginning and end of this study to compare alcohol intake and the risk of developing asthma for more than eight years.
The results showed that the lowest risk of asthma was in the moderate alcohol consumption group.
According to the research team, people who rarely or never drink alcohol have the highest risk of asthma, 1.4 times higher.
People who drink heavily also have an increased risk of developing asthma, 1.2 times higher.
Sofie Lieberoth, a researcher at Bispebjerg Hospital in Denmark, said: 'Drinking excessive alcohol can cause health problems, our research results show the use of alcoholic beverages. Moderate amounts of 1-6 units may help reduce the risk of developing asthma '.
