From New York (USA), Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan, attending the United Nations General Assembly meeting, expressed his condolences to the families of the victims, and directed the authorities to take measures France urgently supports people affected by earthquakes.
According to a Pakistani earthquake monitoring center official, the epicenter was located 5km north of Jhelum district. With a depth of 10 km, earthquakes are more likely to cause damage in nearby areas.
The official added a 3.4 magnitude aftershock occurred 6 km from Jhelum and warned that there would be more aftershocks.
The quake also affected parts of northern India, including India-controlled Kashmir and the northern state of Punjab.
Indian media reported that the magnitude of the earthquake measured here was 6.3. There have been no reports of casualties or damage in neighboring Pakistan.
