The contest is called " Earthquake-resistant design - IDEERS 2006 ". Introducing and demonstrating earthquake engineering research in schools from September 22-24, 2006 in Taipei. This is a contest organized by the British Council of Taiwan, Bristol University and the National Earthquake Research Center of Taiwan.
To participate in the contest, students need to set up a group of 4 members and can invite 1 instructor to accompany them. Candidates will have to design and build an earthquake-resistant home model on the condition of using the materials provided by the organizer. First prize: 30,000 NT $, second prize: 20,000 yuan, third prize: 10,000 yuan and many encouragement prizes . For foreign candidates, the British Council of Taiwan will cover all accommodation, travel and transportation costs for 5 days, but the participating teams must bear the cost of travel and return tickets.
