Electric car: Running 60 km only costs ... 3,000 electric coins

Not an engineer but 48-year-old Tran Van Tam, who lives in Cu Chi - Ho Chi Minh City, has personally researched and successfully built a 3-wheel electric vehicle. He said that anyone can drive the electric car, which he invented himself.

The car has a maximum height of 1.8m, body length of 2.5m, the distance between 2 front and rear wheels is 2m, width of 1, 2m, the whole body weight plus the vehicle weight is 250kg guaranteed for capacity of 3 people. The two sides of the body are designed with transparent plastic rain cover to protect rain or dust, when you need to use just pull up the lock. The ceiling of the vehicle is fitted with a heat-resistant sheet. The car is fully equipped with 48v-800W DC electric motor with 12v-50Ah x 4 dry battery, the maximum speed of the vehicle is 35km / h, 40km for each type of 50 Ah x 4 and 80km for each type of bottle 100 Ah x 4. The car can run back and forth with the lever mounted right below the driver's seat. Because it is powered by electricity, the vehicle is quiet and free of smoke and is easy to use.

The 3-wheel electric vehicle made by Mr. Tam is made of steel and galvanized steel. The chassis is made of round steel, corrugated iron and other plastic materials. Parts such as lights, trumpets, brakes, fork, goose, slug, and fork of motorcycles.

Mr. Tam said the idea of making this electric car comes from the desire to have a passenger car like a cyclo but less effort when controlling and environmentally friendly. He said, he happened to see an image of a man over 60 years old, sweaty and wet all over his back, carrying a foreign visitor on the road. Behind the cyclo, the old man was hunching over and trying to pedal, and his "god" was a big man sitting in front of smiling cheerfully watching the street.

'Seeing that scene, I felt so sorry, so I was determined that at any cost I had to think of some kind of vehicle that was similar to a cyclo, but I was less able to control it, even though I was just driving a car, no degree, no full education. Luckily for me because I have experienced driving a car for more than 20 years, I have more or less knowledge about mechanics, ' recalls Mr. Tam.

In order to complete the 3-wheel electric vehicle like today, he had previously worked on inventing 3 different types of electric vehicles. By the time he completed the fourth 3-wheel electric vehicle (the current one), Mr. Tam intended to bring the car he invented to the traffic police room to register for circulation.

However, it was not time to bring the car to register, he was told to bring a car to Ho Chi Minh City Union of Science and Technology Associations to attend the contest of "HCMC Technical Innovation 2007" . However, Mr. Tam said, he still does not know how to apply for copyright registration with the National Office of Intellectual Property.

According to Mr. Tam, his 3-wheel electric vehicle has many advantages such as 'super saving' fuel cost because the average charge for each long distance of 60km only takes a maximum of 2-3kw of electricity ( equivalent to . 3,000 electricity bills.

The benefit of this car is to replace cyclos or taxis that transport passengers in the city, factory industrial parks and eco-tourism sites because of their safety and economic benefits. bring.

Currently, what Mr. Tam worries about is not knowing whether his 3-wheel electric vehicle is allowed to circulate in the street? In addition, Mr. Tam also hopes to soon start working with businesses and manufacturers to mass produce this 3-wheel electric vehicle to serve the needs of consumers. Currently the electric car is priced around 30-40 million. 'However, if conducting mass production costs will be significantly reduced " - Mr. Tam optimistic said.

3-wheel electric vehicle solution: feasible .

Chairman of the Board of Prof. Dr. Bui Song Cau commented: 'The solution of 3-wheel electric vehicles from retail products available in the market on electricity and mechanics to arrange and assemble into a battery powered vehicle, can run for a long time, including operating parameters. The creative point is to arrange a uniform arrangement so that the car can operate normally. "

Technological significance: While our country does not yet have an electric motorbike manufacturing industry, this technology can still be marketed from the exploitation of spare parts of the adjacent industry.

Efficiency in socio-economic aspects: Although not yet analyzed in terms of economic details, the cost price, according to the author, has produced a sample of about VND 30 million (trial production, single unit) . If mass production is certainly cheaper. Socially, this car is very friendly to the environment.

Prospects: Successfully implemented the test: Normal operation vehicle, small and polite style. If mass production can be implemented, it is possible to replace cyclo, motorbikes to transport people or small-volume goods in the city or suburbs.
