Elephants are pregnant with yoga to keep fit
Similar to pregnant mothers practicing yoga to enhance their health and spirit, elephants also take advantage of the benefits of this miraculous training method.
Elephants practice yahoo during pregnancy
Guardian yesterday posted a video of Num-Oi, a pregnant Asian elephant at Melbourne Zoo, Australia.
In the video, the elephant is doing yoga exercises to keep the shape and ease the pain caused by pregnancy lasting 645 days. One year after pregnancy, Num-Oi weighs 3,230kg and still has to spend another 10 months before giving birth.
According to reporter Carol Bradley, staff at the reserve taught the elephant to coordinate different parts of the body. Training is carried out positively with rewards, so the elephant seems very excited.
Asian elephants are famous for being intelligent animals. They know how to cry at the same time, recognize themselves in the mirror and have a complex way of communicating with the children in the herd.
