Elon Musk shares the first image of the hyper tunnel traffic

Elon Musk shares the first image of a tunnel that allows Los Angeles passengers to travel under the city at 150km / h.

The tunnel section of the 150m long photo was excavated by Musk's Boring Tunneling Company.

SpaceX and Tesla co-founders have come up with the idea of creating a super-fast tunneling system from frustration over US traffic jams.

Mr Musk has an ambitious plan to build a series of tunnels underneath the city, which can take cars into "electric skis" to move super-speed underground, avoiding the Los Angeles Auto Roads.

Boring Company has been experimenting with super tunneling equipment under its headquarters in Los Angeles for months. But the picture above was the first image Musk shared about what appears to be a complete tunnel system after Boring was licensed to dig tunnels in August.

Asking the reader about the tunnel tunneling question, Mr. Musk tweeted, "500ft (150m) so far. Should be 2 miles (3.2km) in three or four months."

On Instagram, the billionaire has said the route will act as an expressway, where electric skateboards carry vehicles and people on the journey at 150km / h and skateboards. Move to the tunnel to escape.

In April of this year, Musk announced that the skis would push the car through the tunnel at a maximum speed of 130 mph (209 km / h) - fast enough to be able to move from Westwood to the international airport. Los Angeles in just five minutes (now it takes 60 minutes by car).

Mr Musk said the tunnel network will consist of 30 tunnels, possibly containing cars and a hyperloop (the supercharged hyper-speed road system that Elon Musk is also developing).
