Massive drill tunnel diminished the road block in the United States

American billionaire Elon Musk plans to dig a tunnel underneath the city of Los Angeles with a giant drill to reduce traffic congestion.

After being trapped by traffic congestion last December, billionaire Elon Musk, owner of SpaceX and Tesla, said the city plans to build a tunnel under the city. Los Angeles to address this situation, according to Wired.

On Feb. 3, Musk shared a picture of a giant tunnel boring machine (TBM) with the "minecraft" annotation on Twitter's social networking site, supposedly a service for construction. However, Musk has not confirmed whether the tunneling machine is his own design and what is the exact purpose of it.

SpaceX began digging a large tunnel near its headquarters in Hawthorne, California to test the machine. The 9m wide tunnel, 15m long and 4.5m deep, is completely legal due to being dug in private property. But if you intend to expand your tunnel further, SpaceX will need the approval of the Los Angeles City Council.

"We are just calculating what we need to improve tunneling speed by 500 to 1,000 percent." We do not know what we're going to do, I just want to clarify that, " Musk said earlier this month.

The 6,700-ton monster machine digs at a depth of nearly 50 meters.

Following the state of the art traffic in Los Angeles last December, Musk announced that it would eliminate the state of the blockade in the city. However, excavation in the heart of the city requires a lot of time due to the amount of rock that is compacted and difficult to map.
