500 million year old stone block balancing in the depths of thousands of meters

Massive granite blocks lie on the edge of the edge from the ice age of tens of thousands of years ago, as they did not bear the attraction of gravity or the thrust of visitors.

According to the Siberian Times, the megalithic block called Rock Hanging is one of the wonders of Siberia and Russia. Scientists say a crack has appeared on the rock and it may fall into the ice lake below this year.

Located in the west of Sayan Mountains, the rock stopped shaking in recent decades. The surface in contact with the ground below the rock is only one square meter wide.

A new crack began to appear on the rock mass in 2012 and it could end tens of thousands of years of balance of the Hanging Stone. The rock may fall down to Raduzhnoye Lake with a diameter of 100m in Yergaki National Park in Krasnoyarsk Province, Siberia.

Many people tried to push the Hanging Stone but fell but failed, including a group of 30 visitors. They combined the thrust together for a while, but the 500 million-year-old granite block did not change.
