Excavation of dinosaur fossils dating back 135 million years
German scientists have unearthed intact dinosaur skeletal bones up to 98% dating back 135 million years.
This dinosaur was nicknamed Ott by archaeologists. It has a very important and sacred meaning, so the German government has banned the translation of Ott from this country.
The Ott dinosaur skeleton is still 98% intact, which is very surprising.
Ott has many characteristics like Theropod, a large carnivorous dinosaur belonging to the T-Rex family (tyrant lizard). However, this creature found in Kelheim has not been properly classified. According to scientists, this is a young dinosaur, 28 inches long. In addition, traces of fur and skin were also found on Ott's skeleton.
According to Oliver Rauhut, manager of Bavarian paleontological collections, the intact dinosaur skeleton up to 98% is surprising. Because most of the bone samples of the T-Rex carnivorous dinosaurs found before were intact up to 80%. It is considered to be the most intact specimen found in Europe, to date.
Scientists unearth the rest of the dinosaurs believed to be a relative of modern whales
Experts said that Ott was only one year old and died in Jurassic. The feathers of this creature are of special interest to scientists because it is the source of the link between dinosaurs and birds today.
This dinosaur skeleton was found two years ago, on a riverbank in Germany. However, until now it has been officially unearthed and widely publicized, because it is feared that hunters of dinosaur fossils from everywhere will rush to search.
The German government affirmed that Ott is ' German cultural property '. That means, Ott is not sold in any way. It will be on display at a museum in Germany.
