'Exit' for diapers used

Japan's Super Faiths has just created an SFD system that automatically cuts, dries, sterilizes diapers, used diapers for adults and children into non-bacterial materials to produce fuel pellets.

At a hospital in western Tokyo, Super Faiths installed two SFDs capable of handling 630kg of diapers (in plastic bags) every day.

Fibrous materials account for one third of the weight and volume of bags and each kilo of this material yields 5,000 kcal of heat.
