The employees of the import company Marusan Mikami Shoten said they had never seen an emperor's crab with such strange colors.
"I've been selling crabs for the past 25 years, but this is the first time I've seen a blue-purple crab. This may be a good omen , " said shopper Kenetsu Mikami.
According to the experts of the Hokkaido Research Organization, the reason for this color crab is due to the effect of diet or mutation causing a lack of pigmentation.
Marusan Mikami employees said they would not sell or eat crabs but keep it alive and display.
