Find ancient Pharaoh and god statues in Egypt

The Egyptian Supreme Council of Antiquities (CSA) on December 17 announced the discovery of fragments of an ancient Pharaoh and god statue in the ruins of the largest temple in Egypt on the west bank of Louxor. , 750km south of the capital Cairo.

This is the bust of the god of water Hapi who has the form of a baboon, which has been identified by CSA as the foot of the statue of King Amenhotep III or Amenophis III, meaning " God Amun satisfied ," 3,000 years ago. year.

CSA President Zahi Hawass said, this is the first statue of this type to be found. The statue shows the sitting Pharaoh with the water god Hapi, one of the four sons of Horus.

In a press release, Dr. Zahi Hawass emphasized that this temple was destroyed 2,000 years ago, needing to be managed by CSA to excavate ancient statues.

Mr. Hawass said the statues have religious significance and cannot be destroyed.
