The mystery of the US Air Force B-17 bomber missing after being shot down 74 years ago finally got the answer.
The mysterious helper is photographer Steve Jones, who found the body of the plane and the Ernest Vinnneau pilot's body at a depth of 70m under the Adriatic Sea .
The British photographer sent photos of the bomber to a photo contest and received a lot of compliments from photographers.
But what made the British photographer feel the most meaningful was his discovery that helped solve the fate of the missing pilot and the B-17 nearly 80 years ago.

"I was stunned when the contest organizers sent me email Lieutenant Ernest's nephew, who tried to contact me after photos of the plane were posted in magazines. contacted Lieutenant Ernest's family ever since, " said the 47-year-old photographer from Aberdare, South Wales.
"The images mean a lot to them because for nearly 80 years they didn't know about Lieutenant Ernest's final resting place , " Jones added.
Recalling the moment when he found the B-17 flying fortress off the coast of Vis Island in Croatia while traveling with the Croatian diving instructor in September 2016, Jones said the plane looked as if it had landed.

Lieutenant Ernest was said to have attempted to land the plane at Vis airport after the plane was shot down in the sky of Yugoslavia during World War II and plunged into the sea.
"Ernest was stuck on the plane because the crew did not have time to take him out before the plane sank into the sea," Jones said.
Lieutenant Ernest, who died at the age of 25, was born and raised in the town of Papinill, Penobscot County, Main State, began serving in the US Air Force 340 bomber squad after joining the army.
After Ernest went missing, the family tried to find his body but failed and received notice that the US Lieutenant was killed at sea.
The family is discussing the removal of his remains from the plane and plans to take Ernest to his burial in the cemetery in his home town.
