Freshwater fish bears the name of President Obama

The Guardian newspaper on November 29 reported that animal researchers took the name of US President Barack Obama to name a newly discovered beautiful freshwater fish.

This new species is called Etheostoma Obama.

Aquatic animal researchers say the male breed is only 5cm long but has a very beautiful shape. Colorful fish fins in which are mostly blue and orange, the lower fins have a semicircle in blue, while the lower fins carry bright orange stripes on the green background.

The small body and tail of the fish also cover green and orange spots. The fish head also has two colors with a yellow face and blue.

This is not the first time the US President's surname is used to name animals, plants and other items.

In 2007, the lichen of the University of California (USA) also named the new lichen Caloplaca Obama, to express his gratitude for the president's advocacy of scientific research.
