A deep hole appeared in a fish pond, 20,000 fish disappeared overnight in China

A hole with a diameter of more than 10 meters suddenly appeared in a fish pond in Wenxing village, Tianfu town, Beibei district, Chongqing city, causing the fish and water in the pond to disappear overnight.

This strange story was recorded and posted on March 14. Immediately, Chinese media contacted the owner of the fish pond.

Mr. Ly said: "My family has a few fish ponds. Recently, we have collected all the fish in the ponds (estimated number of about 20,000) to raise in this fish pond. On the morning of March 14, when we went to the fish pond, we saw that the water in the pond had dried up, the fish had disappeared, and a large hole appeared in the pond. At around 11 am, the house right next to the hole showed signs of subsidence. Fortunately, no one was injured."

"Three years ago, there was a big hole 20 meters away from the fish pond and another hole appeared 50 meters away," said Mr. Ly .

According to Mr. Ly, the area around the town used to be a coal mining area, so the subsidence is likely caused by the impact of coal mining activities.

Immediately after receiving the incident report, local authorities and relevant departments stepped in to investigate. Experts brought monitoring equipment and drones to determine the depth of the hole. They said it would take 2 weeks to get results.
