Generators use natural gas
Volkswagen and a German energy company plan to produce a household gas generator using natural gas. The special feature of this type of home electric generator is the energy utilization rate of 94%.
According to Der Spiegel magazine, Volkswagen and Lichtblick will jointly produce and market a generator that can be placed under the floor. This type of generator uses natural gas for electricity generation, the principle of operation is similar to the car engine uses natural gas .
In addition to meeting the demand for electricity for the home, this type of generator can also utilize excess power to connect to the public grid. The heat generated during power generation can be used to heat a home.
Because of the use of new technologies such as automotive engines, the utilization rate of home electric generators is 94%, while the power of natural gas generators Big size only reaches 40 ~ 60%. With such a high rate of utilization of natural gas, it is more appropriate to use natural gas using grid electricity, and it is not the same as coal or oil generators, because of the pollution of the machine. Generally, the use of natural gas is much lower.
Volkswagen and the Lichtblick Energy Company plan to produce 10,000 generators each year, so that households will be able to use generators that protect the environment and cheap electricity.
