A spokesperson for Guinness World Records told CNN on March 15 that the blueberry was picked on November 13 and is the heaviest blueberry in the world.
This blueberry is 39.31 mm across, roughly the size of a ping pong ball. It is grown in Corindi (New South Wales, Australia) at the Costa farm.
This is the Eterna blueberry variety , which has large fruit size, crispy flesh and does not spoil easily.
Previously, the record for the heaviest blueberry belonged to a 16.20 gram fruit grown in Western Australia in 2020.
Costa, a plant research and development farm, specializes in developing new blueberry varieties that can be grown in a variety of conditions.
