In a press conference launched on March 8 in Hanoi, Rodolfo Ramizer, Asia Regional Director - TBD Telenor, said their current Inmarsat partner had two geostationary satellites operating in orbit. It is expected that by the end of 2007, the third unit will be launched and 'cover' the entire earth. Supplier representatives said there are about 2,000 transceivers operating worldwide. With Asia's current telecommunications growth, the company plans to sell 1,000 more devices in the region.

Vietnam is one of its 10 key markets in Asia, expected to consume about 10% (100 units) of products sold this year. The first group of customers is large enterprises in the maritime, oil and gas, mining and communications industries . because of the specific operating environment of these units, the normal connection services cannot reach.

' The latest wireless technology such as WiMax also has limitations, requiring infrastructure before being provided. With BGAN, users only need to buy equipment and register to be able to use anywhere because satellites are always on orbit , 'said Rodolfo Ramizer. Supplier representatives said that if combined harmoniously, BGAN could serve as a basis for developing 3G mobile information at reasonable prices. In the coming time, Telenor will focus on developing services such as satellite mobile phones, mobile communications, .

' Currently, we have the advantage of leading because there is no similar product in the world. There are other satellite services with higher connection speeds, but the device is also bulky and they don't guarantee true mobility , 'Rodolfo said.
