Tim Bergling (September 8, 1989 – April 20 , 2018) , better known by his stage name Avicii, was a Swedish DJ and music producer.

He was born in 1989 in Stockholm into an artistic family. His mother is a famous actress, who was nominated for an Oscar for her role in the film My life as a Dog.

From the age of 8, Tim Bergling showed an aptitude for music. In 2011, he set a record as the first artist to have an electronic song enter the Pop chart.

Tim Bergling was ranked 6th on the 100 DJs chart voted by DJ Magazine in 2011 and ranked 3rd for 2 consecutive years 2012 and 2013. Tim Bergling won more than a dozen global music awards such as: Grammis of Sweden for Best Creator (2012) and Best Artist (2014), World Music Award for Best Electronic Dance Artist (2014), Billboard Music Award for Vocal Best Dance/Electronic Song (2014) and MTV Music Award for Best Dance Video (2018). Tim Bergling has been nominated for several Grammy Awards.

Tim Bergling is also known as a major humanitarian when he founded the House for Hunger Foundation, a charity dedicated to ending global hunger.

Tim Bergling passed away in 2018.

In January 2012, Bergling was hospitalized for 11 days in New York City and was diagnosed with acute pancreatitis caused by excessive alcohol use. In 2014, Bergling underwent surgery to remove both his appendix and gallbladder. In 2016, Bergling's health took a turn for the worse and he later decided to stop touring.

Tim Bergling died on April 20, 2018 at a location near Muscat, Oman, aged 28.
