Google invested $ 1 million for Maxthon browser
Some industry observers said it was possible that Google invested about $ 1 million in the Maxthon browser in an attempt to compete with the other competitors.
In fact, Maxthon has garnered quite a bit of attention in the US because it is a browser that provides tab functions and other important features that are only available in IE7. However, most Maxthon users are in China.
According to NTD Group statistics, search queries sent from Maxthon accounted for 25% of China's top search site traffic - Baidu. With an investment of $ 1 million, it is likely that Google will become Maxthon's default search engine instead of Baidu and Yahoo as before.
Reportedly, Mozilla also signed a similar agreement with Google to integrate its search engine for open source browser Firefox.
