Google launches 'killer' PowerPoint

The world's leading Internet search provider Google yesterday (April 17) revealed it will launch an online demonstration tool in a few months.

Demonstration tools - functions like Microsoft PowerPoint - will join Google's online "army" office app. Google products will include word processing applications, spreadsheet processing applications and presentation tools.

So even though Google has repeatedly affirmed its goal of launching an online office suite that does not aim to compete with Microsoft, it seems that the new move goes against that statement.

Technical director Sam Schillace said the presentation tool is expected to be officially released this summer.

Information about the existence of the upcoming presentation tool has also been confirmed by Google CEO Eric Schmidt in a speech at the Web 2.0 Expo. In the speech Mr. Schmidt also presented the speech with the same tool.

However, Google executives deny that its toolkit is aimed at competing with Microsoft.
