According to the organization's annual report, the amount of carbon dioxide (CO 2 ) in the air increased faster in 2012, 41% higher than the pre-industrial era. Greenhouse gas emissions in 2020 are expected to be 8 to 12 billion tons higher than necessary to maintain the global temperature rise below 2 degrees Celsius by 2020.
The head of the World Meteorological Organization Michel Jarraud warned: 'This information is not very good. 2012 is worse than 2011. The year 2011 is worse than 2010. Each year we reach a new record. Time is passing without any action being taken. This is negatively impacting global climate change '.
Delegates from more than 190 countries are expected to attend the United Nations Conference on Climate Change in Warsaw (Poland) next week to discuss the proposed new emission reductions to be signed. 2015, but only began to take effect in 2020.
