Hair fibers are expected to make history after 500 years Leonardo da Vinci died

Reuters reported that a museum in Italy is planning to test DNA a bunch of hair supposedly by the master master Leonardo da Vinci.

However, some experts are skeptical and think that, almost certainly, the hair does not belong to da Vinci, and the DNA result is not reliable.

Da Vinci died in May 1519 and was buried at Chateau d'Ambroise, near the city of France Tours. The castle was severely destroyed after the 1789 French Revolution and many graves were gone, including Leonardo.

According to Alessandro Vezzosi, director of the Leonardo da Vinci museum in Vinci, the home of the Tuscany artist, pinch of hair was found in 1863 by a man tasked with finding what remains of da Vinci.

"In 1925, an American collector bought it in Paris . Then, before he died, he sold it to another American collector who contacted us , " Vezzosi said. .

He said the museum wanted to sample DNA from the hair and compare it with the DNA of a group of da Vinci descendants - which was discovered in 2016 through genealogy records.

"The important thing is not to consider it a natural outcome before the scientific examination is complete," the director pointed out.

Even so, experts have quickly "poured cold water" into the whole story.

Eike Schmidt, director of the Uffizi reputation museum in Florence, said: "It is almost certain that this part of the hair doesn't have any relationship with Leonardo da Vinci."

Finding a DNA link with living relatives will also create many problems because tracing can only be done through uninterrupted female and female relatives; or the father or a male relative is not broken. Meanwhile, Leonardo's mother's identity is still a mystery.

Da Vinci himself never married and had no direct heir. Therefore, DNA samples will be compared with descendants that according to Vezzosi, once found on the family tree of other children, whose father was born.

The opportunity to find an unrelated male relative over 500 years is almost impossible.
