Half a liter of beer a day is healthy
Spanish scientists have discovered, drinking a pint of beer a day (about 0.5 liters) will be beneficial to your health and may help reduce the risk of diabetes as well as high blood pressure.
The Daily Mail reported that two doctors Ramon Estruch and Rosa Lamuela from Barcelona and Madrid conducted experiments with 1,249 women and men over 57 years old. Researchers found that volunteers complied with a Mediterranean-style diet with half a liter of beer a day "not only without gaining weight but in some cases even losing weight ".
According to scientists, beer gives consumers the same health benefits as drinking moderate amounts of wine.
Research results show that beer contains folic acid, vitamins, iron and calcium, providing a " protective shield " for the cardiovascular system. Half a liter of light beer provides about 200 calories, equivalent to a cup of milk coffee.
Volunteers who regularly drink moderate amounts of beer are less likely to have diabetes and high blood pressure and have lower body fat.
Dr. Lamuela affirmed: " In this study, we have eliminated misconceptions. We know that beer is not a factor to blame for obesity ." Dr Estruch added that beer only causes obesity when taken too much, combined with an inadequate, high-fat diet and no exercise.
For the best health benefits, scientists recommend that women take 2 small beers a day while men should drink a little more, 3 cups a day, and combine it with a healthy diet. and exercise moderation.
