The first 2-floor bus called City Tour will be tested this morning.It is expected that the car will follow the route of the Opera House, Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam, Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and Hanoi old town.
During the test run, the unit only ran one car to acknowledge people's opinions.
Model of 2-storey bus for tourism will be applied in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.It is expected that this vehicle will be officially put into operation in the next 2 months.
At the end of 2016, the Ministry of Transport issued a document to propose the People's Committees of 6 provinces and cities to pilot 2-floor buses for tourism, including Hanoi.
Accordingly, 7 provinces and cities will pilot 2-tier buses including Hanoi, Quang Nam, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Thua Thien - Hue, Lam Dong and Kien Giang.
The Ministry of Transport expects the project to contribute to promoting tourism in urban areas, meeting the goal of making the tourism industry a key economic sector.
It is expected that Hanoi will use the first 10 cars in July 2017.
