Hard drive hits 2 terabytes
The first 2.5-inch Constellation and Constellation ES 3.5-inch version of Seagate (US) storage device has the ability to automatically stop running when not in use, to save power.

Late last month, Western Digital also performed the world's first 2 TB drive, but this is a 3.5-inch SATA version for desktop systems containing 4 500 GB disks, 400 Gb / square inch, capable of 3 Gb / sec data transfer and 32 MB cache buffer for $ 299.
Seagate's Constellation and Constellation ES series use SAS (Serial Attached SCSI) interface with a speed of 6 Gb / s or SATA (Serial ATA) 3 Gb / s, including 4 7,200 revolutions / minute, 32 MB cache for the version SATA and 16 MB with SAS drive.
Constellation models will be available this quarter with a capacity of 160 GB and 500 GB and Constellation ES will be released in the third quarter of 2009 with models 500 GB, 1 TB and 2 TB. Product price has not been announced.
