Hats detect brain shocks
To limit brain injury, especially for athletic athletes, the Reebok sportswear company and MC10 Electronic Co. have developed a CheckLight sensor cone that can alert users.
The CheckLight is equipped with three-axis accelerometer, integrated rear- wheel-mounted gyroscope to measure the acceleration and circular motions and analysis information when a shock occurs. If the impact force is high or exceeds a certain threshold, the LED system with two yellow or red LEDs flashes indicating the severity of the impact.
In addition, the microprocessor has the ability to memorize the number of times the team is shaken, so it is convenient to track its impact on a person over time.
According to MC10, CheckLight can accurately calculate the external force acting directly on the rear of the head of the team compared to the sensor systems of other equipment that only provides crash information on the helmet. Although not announced, CheckLight is expected to be launched by Reebok later this month.
