Essex University in England is discussing exploration plans to build the world's deepest pool, serving the study of endurance of human bodies and flights into space.

British University wants to build the deepest pool in the world

Essex University , located in northeast London, plans to build a 50-meter-deep swimming pool , many times the pool of the Houston Aerospace Agency (NASA) - 12 meters deep.

The cost of construction of the lake is about 62.5 million USD. The pool will simulate micro gravity environment of outer space and deep sea floor.

Blue Abyss, partner of Essex University, said the pool is designed to serve human space research programs, environmental monitoring, diving techniques, physiological studies of humans and Maritime, as well as aerospace development .

The world's deepest swimming pool is Y-40 in Montegrotto Terme, Italy, with a depth of 42 m. Meanwhile, a standard Olympic swimming pool is only 5m deep.
