The deepest swimming pool in the world

33 m deep and designed by a Belgian architect John Beernaerts, Nemo33 has officially become the deepest swimming pool in the world.

11 years ago, an engineer decided to turn his passion of building an underwater world into reality when he constructed a swimming pool that broke the world record for depth.

In fact, John Beernaerts' dream is to build the world's first diving sports indoor complex. But perhaps his ambition will become a reality in the future.

Now, he is becoming famous for the Nemo33 swimming pool - the deepest swimming pool in the world. 'It is a huge construction and difficult not in terms of design but feasibility. I longed for it for a long time, like an obsession, 'said the 47-year-old engineer.

7 years, 4 million pounds and the support of 4 more friends helped him to fulfill his desire. Located in the outskirts of Brussels, Nemo33 is considered an unimaginable success for professionals in the construction industry.

With a capacity of 2.5 million liters of water, this swimming pool is specially designed as a dive-using dive zone. In spring, the water temperature is always kept at a stable level of 33ºC.

There are more than 100,000 divers from all over Europe who have visited Nemo33. Here, diving enthusiasts also have the opportunity to participate in a diving engineering training course and how to use the equipment used in the sport.
