Inside the world's deepest swimming pool

The depth of the Y-40 Deep Joy tank is 40 m so visitors can experience diving, swimming, taking underwater photos or watching performances of "mermaids".

Y-40 Deep Joy is a swimming pool located in Montegrotto Terme, 45 km from Venice (Italy) to the west.

Professional swimmers can explore the depth of the tank by equipping snorkel kits, or risking more than challenging themselves when diving without equipment.

On the surface Y-40 Deep Joy looks like most other pools with many people preparing to jump into the water and enjoy.However, most visitors here want to experience deep diving to the bottom.

Swimming pool is keeping Guinness record is the deepest swimming pool in the world.The deepest point of the tank is placed in the diving pipe, estimated at 40 m from the surface, equivalent to the height of a 14-storey building.

Y-40 Deep Joy is also a place where visitors can watch performances of "mermaids".

Photographer Rino Sgorbani, 65, is an adventurous person who has dived into the pool and made a set of photos to capture these moments.

The pool also offers underwater photography courses and diving lessons for many different guests.

Photographer Sgorbani said: "At first glance, it looks like a normal swimming pool, but it has a sea-like depth, the water is as hot as the Caribbean. Diving here is very interesting, making me very excited to be experienced." .

In fact, the water in the tank is kept at 32 degrees C due to hot water.This pool was designed by architect Emanuele Boaretto and opened for guests from June 2014.

Another horizontal pipe allows visitors to walk back and forth as if they were in a giant aquarium.
