Herbicides alter global ecosystems

Research in a laboratory in Germany shows that using pesticides or herbicides can harm organisms more than people know.

The number of people on earth has almost doubled in the past 50 years. The use of pesticides in food production has had a strong impact on humans and plants and animals.Herbicides that can alter global ecosystems and intensive farming in agriculture also reduce the number of wildlife populations, threatening amphibians , Science Daily reports.

Professor Heinz Kohler and Rita Triebskorn from the Ecological Evolution University (EVE) in Tübingen, Germany, published a study on the link between pesticides and the process of changing ecosystems on the latest publication of Science.

Kohler and Triebskorn said: "Although there are many signs that organisms and ecosystems change due to pesticides, very few studies prove this problem."

Scientists use an interdisciplinary approach, applying mathematical tools, chemical and biological analysis to recognize the effects of pesticides on living organisms, ecosystems in the region and in the dark. agricultural cultivation.

Kohler and Triebskorn also point out the relationship between pesticides and global warming. They forecast changes of natural selection, spread of diseases, fertility of wildlife, thereby causing chain effects on populations, ecosystems and food chains.

"The scientific community will face many challenges to prove the strong impact of pesticides is also impacted by climate change. Levels of impact on organisms need to be studied more carefully," Kohler said. and Triebskorn said.
