The Liftware scoop utilizes the technology 'actively suppresses vibrations ', in response to hand shaking and helps to prevent food falling in these patients, according to CNET.
"The idea is to use proactive off-the-shelf technology that is deployed in noise-canceling headphones to regulate motion at a larger scale ," said Anupam Pathak, founder of Lynx Design, the company responsible for Lift Labs. .
While researching new materials related to active technology, Pathak devised a way of making furniture that would neutralize human vibration.
The Liftware continuously stabilizes it even when the user is shaking, using sensors to detect movement and distinguish between hand-shake and user-specific movements.
The motors located in the scoop handle move upwards and downwards, effectively suppressing the vibrations caused by Parkinson's disease.
