High tech tourism tents

Sierra Designs has perfected the Mojo UFO as a new line of ExoFusion tents. This tent is for 2 people with ultra-lightweight design weighing less than 0.9kg and only takes a few minutes to stretch.

Sierra has just announced the new tent in a recent press conference. According to Mojo UFO, the tent is designed to satisfy the customers who want ultra-light products made from modern materials and a design full of personality. Instead of using nylon or polyester yarns, the company used a high-strength, lightweight cubic yarn used in sailcloth to create a tent and cover for the entrance. Cuben has been widely used in picnic products for the last few years, such as the Brooks-Range Rocket Tent or Terra Nova Laser Ultra 1.

The two tents, however, did not have a combination of cubed fiber and pure carbon fiber like the Mojo UFO, which made the tent only 0.76kg, one The lightest tent on the market freestanding tent (not stabled) for two people.

Mojo UFO's ExoFusion system includes an external pillar that helps to tent up quickly. Integrated door panels are easier to install than separate doors and offer greater ventilation than single-layer tents.

Since the cost of producing cubic and carbon fiber is not cheap, the prospect of Mojo UFOs is mostly upstream. The price of the tent is 1799 USD. Not many people are willing to spend nearly $ 2,000 on a tent so Sierra is planning to produce in limited quantities. Mojo UFOs will not be the "most expensive tent in the world" . However, it is much more expensive than any tourist tent that we see on the market at prices ranging from $ 400-600.

While Mojo impressed with its lightweight structure and materials, the other tents were lighter while the price was only one-third. For example, the Sea to Summit Specialist Duo tent is about 0.62kg - 0.82kg while the price is 500USD. The $ 1300 difference can help you buy a great deal of accessories or even rent a camel to carry.

Scott Kaier, marketing director of American Rec, said Sierra's parent company claimed that they wanted to make the tent as lightweight as possible while still having the largest size for the tent. and standard of comfort as well as providing full functionality for users. Mojo is 127cm at the top while the Specialist Duo is only 94cm wide.

Sierra is preparing to launch Mojo UFOs in the upcoming Outdoor Retailer Summer.
