How does the US Navy provide clean water to Filipinos?
Every day, helicopters from the USS George Washington carrier group carry food and nearly 60,000 liters of clean water provide Filipinos in areas destroyed by Typhoon Hai Yen. Where is the water source taken? Please: From the sea.

Every American warship has a seawater filter into clean water for use. An average destroyer can produce 72,000 gallons (272,550 liters) of water. And USS George Washington nuclear-powered aircraft carrier produces 400,000 gallons (1.5 million liters) of clean water / day and night, enough for 2,000 households.
According to the US Navy news site, when the campaign Damayan began to rescue Filipinos in areas devastated by Typhoon Hai Yen, a group of USS George Washington aircraft carriers was assigned the task: plans to install a plumbing system on the deck to supply water to containers, take it on helicopters to land.
This group of mechanical staff is part of the hull maintenance (HT), which has less than 9 hours to design, manufacture, and install this water pipeline."We were briefed on this idea and had to race against time, " said HT-level staff, Jacob Kaiser.
So HT group started to design and install the water pipe system, named octopus , including a main tube and 8 taps to supply water for 8 bottles at the same time.
In less than 9 hours, both teams saw, cut, weld and connect metal pipes to complete a water pipeline on the carrier runway. The other technicians of the ship also participated in the extra support to make the pipe high enough for staff on board to open the water supply hose to the containers.
'This is a hard work but we are proud of it ,' said Kaiser.
The hull maintenance mechanic (HT) has less than 9 hours to design, manufacture and install complete water pipes.
The result of the group is the 'octopus' water pipe that serves water supply at the same time
On average, the USS George Washington carrier group carries 11 tons of goods into the Philippines inland, of which about 2,800 5 gallon water bottles (nearly 20 liters). In order to deliver clean water on schedule, the personnel on the ship also took advantage of 48-cubic-foot containers (about 1,360 liters) which used to contain bulky materials, washed, wrapped in plastic and poured water into and placed in the Frozen room into ice. Then they put them on helicopters, when carrying on land, the ice has melted away.
Containers are also a problem that aircraft carrier George Washington is about to face. In the early days, gray plastic water tanks were completely empty, green containers were used, and if the progress continued to be understood, the vessel had enough water tanks.
So on the Twitter account of the Philippine Embassy in Washington called on Filipinos after using it, they returned the containers to the relief workers to return to the carrier to continue taking water.
Currently, George Washington is providing water and sanitation equipment to Guiuan / Samar, Ormoc, Borongan and Leyte areas, using 20 helicopters per day, from November 14 until now.
It is known that the British HMS Illustrious helicopter carrier, with 7 helicopters on board and equipment to produce clean water, will come to the Philippines for relief from November 25.

Transfer clean water to MH-60S Seahawk helicopters on land, the first few days also use gray bottles, on the body have written: ' Property of the US government'
By November 16, the type of gray pot is almost empty, it must use a blue water bottle
This shipment to Guiuan, Eastern Samar province is mainly clean water
Deliver clean water to people
American sailors and Filipino relief workers transferred the used water containers onto the truck, bringing back USS George Washington (CVN 73) aircraft carrier to pump water in, continuing to supply the people.
