How many meteors fell on Western Canada?

Based on the number and frequency of meteorites and the formation of craters on Earth, about 20 craters of less than 100m in size have been formed in the last 10,000 years, however only 5 of which is known.

Herd and colleagues discovered a 36-meter-diameter crater located in the forest area near Whitecourt town, Alberta, Canada. Although it is impossible to see through satellites, this crater is detected by the Earth's surface model obtained from Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR).

This meteorite hole formed in sediment, buried soil with radioactive carbon age about 1100 years. 74 iron meteorites (0.1-1196 grams) were recovered, mostly angular shaped like shrapnel.

These meteorites are buried at a depth of less than 25 cm and are fragments of a larger stem after the collision.

The impact of the original meteorite creates a simple bowl-shaped structure. Herd says LiDAR is an effective tool for finding other small craters.
