How soon will machines think like humans?

In the age of technology 4.0, everywhere people talk about AI and people even see AI as a 'monument' in computer technology rather than just a simple trend.

What is AI?

So what is AI technology? AI (Artificial Intelligence) is models and algorithms developed by AI engineers with the purpose of making computers intelligent. Current AI is built mainly in the form of machine learning, these are algorithms that self-learn on input data to solve a specific problem. Thanks to that, we can get closer to AI.

Some main directions of AI/machine learning that are currently popular include:

  • Image Processing (Computer Vision)
  • Natural Language Processing
  • Audio Signal Processing
  • Big data processing

Classification of AI

  • ANI : Usually only solves a small task. Applications with ANI are becoming popular and present every day such as virtual assistant Siri, Google translate, and face unlock system.
  • AGI : Can understand and learn any task that a human can do. We have not yet reached this level of AI and still need more research, especially Microsoft has invested 1 billion USD in OpenAI to develop AGI.
  • ASI: Can surpass human abilities, even do better than humans in many math problems. In addition, this AI can also understand human emotions and express its own emotions.

Differences between AI, Machine Learning and Deep Learning

It can be understood that AI is a human goal, hoping that computers can have intelligence like humans. To create that intelligence, Machine Learning is a means used to achieve it. Within Machine Learning, there are many ways and algorithms to learn, Deep Learning is the most prominent. Thanks to Deep Learning, computers can solve problems that were unthinkable for computers many years ago, such as accurately listening to human voices, accurately recognizing faces among millions of different faces.
