According to the US Consumer Product Safety Commission, before making the above decision, HP received about 20 reports of molten batteries from various areas, making a person burn slightly.

The recalled battery is a lithium ion rechargeable battery released in January last year and is used in many HP and Compaq laptops. This pin lot will have a barcode starting with the L3 string.

This battery pack is made in China and the retail price of L3 laptops / notebooks is priced between 1000 and 3000 USD. If sold separately, the battery is priced between 100 and 300 USD.

According to CPSC estimates, laptops and notebooks that may contain recalled batteries this time include: dv1xxx and ze2xxx series in HP Pavilion, nx48xx series in the HP Compaq and V2xxx family with M2xxx in Compaq Presario family.

As recommended by SPSC, anyone who is using a laptop with a barcode with a barcode starting with L3 should stop using it immediately and contact the nearest HP office. If verified as the type of battery to be recalled, they will be compensated with a new battery for free.
