Hung 'ozone' and a scheme to solve the turbid water problem in HCMC

The research topic of KS Le Quoc Hung is very interested. Therefore, on October 17, a reporter of Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper and Vietnam Television (VTV) and some businesses and scientists such as Prof. Dr. Tran Manh Tri, Mr. Le Minh Liem . came. Tan Thoi Hiep Industrial Park (District 12), Duc Hue (Long An) - where there are clean water treatment facilities of KS Le Quoc Hung, to visit clean water treatment process.

On October 18, at the address 84, Dong Den Street, Tan Binh District - Ho Chi Minh City, Hung gave the research data on the causes of Ho Chi Minh City's tap water being clouded and experimented on the water treatment process. opaque.

Causes turbid water

Picture 1 of Hung 'ozone' and a scheme to solve the turbid water problem in HCMC

Engineer Le Quoc Hung experimented with ozone to oxidize water contaminated with Fe and Mn

KS Hung analyzed: The main cause of tap water in HCMC is reddish brown due to the quiet phenomenon of manganese (Mn) and iron (Fe) deposits. This is the fact that people who do water treatment work know.

Mr. Hung explained: We know that domestic water standards and even bottled drinking water standards in Vietnam also allow Mn Therefore, when water is found in the Fe and Mn content, it is permitted that there is no problem. Water only needs to contain Fe> 0.2 mg / liter and Mn> 0.05 mg / liter, making the water reddish brown when left in the air or exposed to chlorine (the substance in tap water to kill bacteria).

At present, Ho Chi Minh City provides about 1.2 million m3 of water every day, most of which is surface water (river), and small part is groundwater (drilled wells). Surface water treatment plants do not encounter Fe and Mn problems. However, underground water plants do. According to Mr. Hung, his OBM company handled this case for many enterprises.

Results: Water still meets Vietnamese standards. However, when chlorine is added to wash aquatic products, the water turns yellow or washes clothes. OBM currently has the most advanced Mn processing technology (no need to raise the pH like traditional technology and purple-green sand technology) with low investment costs and operating costs.

Experiment on both types of water

The experiment of Le Quoc Hung Hotel was conducted on October 18 starting from 2 water sources: one is a standard tap water source; two are tap water in areas that are cloudy, red brick. For the first type of water, Hung Hung measured and met Vietnamese standards. After that, he let ozone into the air, then the water immediately turned red.

He explained: TP tap water, processed, lit chlorine to kill bacteria, so that for a while, the air will oxidize and produce such components. For cloudy, red-colored water, Hung also passed ozone gas to precipitate turbid things, then purify, completely clear water; When added to extremely strong oxidants, the water is not cloudy.

With this experiment, Mr. Hung said that he has caught the correct circuit of the turbid water causes of the city and will solve the problem of causing headaches for professionals all the time.

Engineer Le Quoc Hung:I want to perform in front of HCMC leaders

In order for readers to know more about how to solve the turbid water problem in Ho Chi Minh City, we have a direct conversation with Mr. Le Quoc Hung.

. Reporter: Sir, why do you think that only 2 billion VND can solve the problem of city turbid water?

- KS Le Quoc Hung: Through the survey, I found that only one factory had the same reasons as mentioned, affecting the whole system. I did not change the existing water treatment system but just added it to the necessary things. Therefore, I think that with the problem of turbid water, only 2 billion dong can be solved.

. Why is it so cheap?

- I want to bring what I study to experiment. So this 2 billion dong cannot be a precursor of money or money, but only money on equipment.

. Why do you claim that the concentrations of Fe and Mn in water affect the turbidity and odor of water?

- When the water is in the ground (about 25 - 45 m), the oxygen concentration in the water is low, Fe and Mn will dissolve in water and no color. But when the oxygen concentration increases, Fe, Mn will oxidize, precipitate into white particles, turn yellow and reddish brown (clay) and settle down into the tube wall. Iron particles that are too small will float, making the water colored. Mn also suffers from the same oxidation as iron, but its rust is black. The smell of water is hydrogen sulfide, often present in water with high concentrations of Fe and Mn.

. Many people think that you are . a great person to bring this sensitive issue into public opinion?

- I also heard my friends and some others say so. I look forward to proving what I have said by experimenting in the presence of City leaders, Saigon Water Supply Corporation (Sawaco), Department of Science and Technology, scientists and all those concerned. center. I want to be questioned about what I say. If we can do it, why don't we do it?

. Sir, you said, the problem of turbid water is just the tip of an iceberg?

- There are many people calling to ask me (after the Lao Lao Dong newspaper published the news), why when so many Vietnamese experts have not found the cause of turbid water, I declare that I can solve the problem about 2 billion. My answer is that people are screening for cancer, and I treat the runny nose for the sick person who is having a runny nose.

Take a look at the quality of TP's drinking water seriously.Actually, turbid tap water is just the tip of the iceberg, and many problems need to be discussed seriously. In my opinion, the City should set up a water quality control and security committee and must operate independently from the water supply company.

Associate Prof. Dr. Phan Minh Tan, Director of HCMC Department of Science and Technology:

If the right way may not need much money

. Dear PGS, what do you think about the causes and process of turbid water treatment that KS Hung stated?

- For many reasons that scientists in the past have doubts are possible. The reason given by KS Hung also needs to be considered.

. What do you think about the figure of 2 billion can solve the problem of turbid water?

- 2 billion or 10 billion is not important, it is important to do the right thing. If the right way is done, it may not need much money.

. Does the HCMC Department of Science and Technology create conditions if KS Hung wants to participate in troubleshooting turbid water?

- If KS Hung wants, we can propose a solution to the Department of Science and Technology, we will consider, if it is proposed to Sawaco.

Mr. Vo Quang Chau, Deputy Director of Sawaco: Please invite Mr. Hung to meet me

Mr. Chau said that the water treatment of Sawaco always meets the standards of the Ministry of Health, Fe: 0.5 ppm, Mn: 0.5 ppm, even better than the standard allowed. Currently there are 400 discharge tunnels to flush water. But water can still be built into people's houses. However, recently, when lowering the standard of Fe and Mn, the phenomenon of water turbidity in the area of HCMC has decreased significantly.

Mr. Vo Quang Chau said: ' I cannot say anything about the project of Mr. Hung. I want to have specific evidence and solutions. I am very happy and ready to cooperate. Please invite Hung to meet me, work with Sawaco '.

Opinions of scientists

. Dr. Tran Minh Chi, Director of Institute of Tropical Technology and Environmental Protection:

If the amount of Fe and Mn in the water after treatment is high, the treatment process is problematic. If they are oxidized it exists in many different forms, the more difficult it is to dissolve and cause turbidity. Interference between water sources should also be considered as the cause of turbid water. Because if a source is infected it will spread to the whole system. As for whether 2 billion VND can solve the turbid water problem of the city, it is difficult to judge. I think the problem is in how to solve it.

. Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh, Deputy Director of Da Lat Nuclear Research Institute:

I see the problem of turbid water of scientists in the country can be completely overcome, if we (many parties) will sit together. If the examination does not look at the whole patient, it is difficult to contact the overall reality of the body.In fact, the data that Sawaco provided to us is not sufficient.I endorse the proposal of KS Hung, because I think HCMC's turbid water problem is very similar to the turbid water problem in France in 1972 and some cities of other countries before, which they have solved easily. .
