Protect the ozone layer connecting the world

September 16 every year is the World Ozone Day . On this day, the world reiterated the importance of ozone, human influence on ozone depletion due to the excretion of fragile ozone-depleting substances in the upper atmosphere.

This year, the theme of the Ozone Day is ' Protection of the ozone layer connecting the world ', to realize what has been agreed by the whole world, through the Montreal Protocol.

Perhaps it is not redundant to spend a few minutes reminding each other of an ongoing dangerous phenomenon and its heavy consequences, as well as reviewing what we need to do to preserve the protective shield of life. Ours are safe.

Protecting the ozone layer is the common responsibility of everyone.

What exactly is ozone?

Ozone is a natural gas, located on the upper atmosphere of the Earth, absorbing most of the ultraviolet rays from the Sun, causing skin diseases. The gas gathered into a layer surrounding the planet. Scientists discovered a precious shirt protecting the health of this person, having a hole with a thin spot . caused by humans, causing the ozone layer to lose its effect.

How is the ozone layer degraded?

Some chemicals used in the home and industry when evaporated into the atmosphere, high rise causes degradation of the ozone layer. Their names, if not professionals, are difficult to remember, any chloroflorocarbon (CFC), Halon, carbontrolloride, methyl clorofoc, methyl bromide . They are used in refrigerators, fire extinguishers, aerosols, foam plastics, substances metal cleaning etc.

What should I do?

The ozone layer is not in any country but every country suffers the consequences if it is 'damaged'. Protecting the ozone layer is the responsibility of all humans. So the heads of countries around the world met in Montreal (Canada), finding a common solution to limit the damage to this shield. As a result, a common agreement was drafted to eliminate the use of ozone depleting chemicals. It was the Montreal Protocol which was signed by 195/196 countries in 1987 and revised twice, the latest in 1992.

What do we need to do?

The light and heat brought by the Sun are necessary for life on Earth, but they carry ultraviolet rays that cause much harm. Protecting the ozone layer is protecting us from these harms.

What we can do to contribute to preventing ozone layer degradation is very specific and simple, that is:

Picture 2 of Protect the ozone layer connecting the world 1. Protect yourself from direct sunlight exposure. Cover skin, wear sunglasses, wear a hat when going out in the sun.

2. Reduce air pollution caused by vehicles and other equipment when discharging emissions into the environment.

3. Save energy, water in the home and workplace.

4. Use natural light in your home and workplace if possible.

5. Take advantage of public transportation rather than using a personal motorbike or taxi if possible. Occasionally ride a bike or walk to work.

6. When buying household products, especially those used in spray cans, find the type listed on the ' no CFC ' label.

7. Paint the house, should be painted by sweeping or rolling, not using spray paint.

8. Reduce the use of foam plastic packaging. If available, take advantage of many times.

Mobilize your family and friends as you do. We will have a more " green " life. Simple, isn't it? If the whole world joins to do these things, it will create a clean and green environment for everyone.
