Asia-Pacific uses many ozone-depleting substances
On April 13, the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) emphasized that Asia-Pacific remains the world's largest producer and consumer of ozone-depleting chemicals (HCFC).

The UNEP report stated that Asia-Pacific produces up to 85% and consumes 74% of HCFC produced and consumed globally, of which China is a producer, consumer and supplier of HCFC. The world's largest, despite the Montreal Protocol on the gradual elimination of HCFCs to protect the ozone layer that has been in effect.
China produces most of the refrigerators, air conditioners, ventilation and heating equipment, and is also the fastest growing HCFC user in the world.
Ozone hole
The Montreal Protocol is an opportunity for the refrigerator and air conditioning industry to adopt new energy-efficient, environmentally friendly and ozone-efficient technologies.
UNEP emphasized that the compliance of countries, especially with the goal of gradually reducing the use of, proceeds to stop using and find other chemicals to replace HCFC under the Montreal Protocol, deciding whether to succeed or not. defeat of this international environmental agreement.
Developing countries participate in this process with the goal of not increasing the use of HCFC from January 1, 2013 and reducing the use of HCFC by 2015.
In July 2011, the Leadership Committee of the Multilateral Committee for the Implementation of the Montreal Protocol granted 265 million USD to the first phase of the country's plan to gradually reduce HCFC. Accordingly, in 2015, China will have to reduce consumption of 3,320 tons of HCFC - accounting for 17% of the total amount of HCFC that the country currently uses.
The meeting of senior government officials, international industry and trade experts is currently discussing in Beijing how to select chemicals and technologies to replace HCFCs starting January 1, 2013 in program of the 23rd International Exhibition on refrigerators, air conditioners, ventilation and heating equipment, food processing, packaging and storage processes.
This is the largest exhibition in Asia - Pacific and one of the three most influential exhibitions in the world for HCFC equipment in the world. More than 1,000 exhibitors from over 30 countries and more than 45,000 professionals and buyers from over 100 countries participated in the exhibition.
