IBM demonstrated some technological improvements in the next 5 years
Real-time language translation, mobile Web monitoring and water filtration nanotechnology will be one of the improvements that IBM Labs (IBM Labs) said will be available in the market within 5 next year.
These improvements are the subject of the announcement of some of the technologies that IBM is developing with the participation of business partners, industry analysts and journalists on the first half. IBM said it would commercialize these technologies around 2012.
At the ceremony, Pohle, in charge of IBM Global Business Services, demonstrated a real-time translation program (currently being tested for US troops in Iraq, translated from English to Arabic). . Although there are still some minor errors, such as limited vocabulary, the implementation of this translation technology is very feasible.
Another technology introduced by Pohle is to allow doctors at the hospital to monitor patients at home via the Internet. The patient will be fitted with a health sensor on the network.
In addition, IBM's research in the nano field may allow the development of various types of carbon nanotubes for drinking water purification purposes. For every gallon of water (3.78 liters - US) on Earth today, only one drop of water is drinkable without filtering.
According to Pohle, the next five years will witness the development of many technologies such as 3-dimensional Internet, allowing for sightseeing tours with 3D images on the Internet; Existing technology (presence technology), which allows mobile phones with GPS positioning function to send special discount notice of the store when pedestrians pass .
