India is about to have the tallest statue in the world, nearly as much as the object of American freedom
The world's tallest statue is expected to be completed in October 2018 in the Indian state of Gujarat.
With a height of 182m, the Statue of Unity in western India will surpass the world record currently belonging to the statue of Trung Nguyen Dai Buddha, 153m high, in China.
The giant Statue of Unity is currently being built on Sadhu Island in the middle of the Narmada River in the state of Gujarat, India.It is expected that the project with a budget of up to 320 million USD will be completed in October this year.
Photos taken at the construction site show that two huge concrete columns have been completed, but there is still work to be completed to create the Indian political and cultural leader Sardar Vallabhbhai Pate .
Along with a visitor center, the Statue of Unity also features a 152m high art exhibition.This area can serve 200 visitors at the same time.
An observatory is built on top of the statue, helping visitors admire the surrounding landscape.
When completed in October 2018, the Statue of Unity will be nearly twice as tall as the Statue of Liberty in America.
Close to the statue of Statue of Unity is a 3-star hotel with 128 rooms, restaurants and conference centers.
