The project revives wonders of the ancient world
A group of experts from many countries launched the Rhodes God Statue Project to revive the tallest statue in ancient Greece.
Revive the sun god statue on Rhodes Island
According to Ancient Origins, the statue of the Sun God in Rhodes is one of the seven wonders of the ancient world. Cast from copper with a height of 40m, the statue was built to thank the gods for helping the islanders of Rhodes win the invaders.
In 357 BC, the Greek island of Rhodes was conquered by Mausolus of Halicarnassus, then fell into the hands of Persia in 340 BC and eventually belonged to Alexander the Great from 332 BC. At the end of the 4th century BC, Rhodes formed an alliance with Egypt's Ptolemy I against the common enemy, Antigonus I Monophthalmus of Macedonia.

In 305 BC, Antigonus sent his son Demetrius to invade and punish Rhodes Island for forming an alliance with Egypt. Demetrius commanded 40,000 soldiers to attack the island but later the ship carried Ptolemy's reinforcements to 304 BC. Demetrius's army was forced to flee, leaving most of the siege equipment.
To commemorate the victory, the islanders sold equipment and used the proceeds to build a giant statue to honor Helios Island's guardian god, named the God of the Sun (Colossus of Rhodes). . The god statue was made of copper melted from the weapons of the invaders.
The statue only existed 56 years before the 226 BC earthquake, destroying most of the city on the island, and causing the statue to collapse and divide into pieces. The ruin remains the same for 900 years until the Arab invasion of Rhodes Island in 654 BC. The remainder from the statue is melted to cast coins, tools and weapons.
The expert team consists of architects, archaeologists, public relations specialists, civil engineers and economists from many countries who have planned to revive the statue of the god of the Sun that was born earlier. 2,200 years. The modern statue will be 150m high and covered with solar panels at the surface. One of the highlights of the project is the museum displaying thousands of ancient artifacts at the base.
