Indonesia bombarded the forest with water bombs

Air quality in Singapore increased markedly after Indonesian officials mobilized aircraft to flush water on forest fires on Sumatra island.

Smoke from forest fires in Indonesia covers Singapore for many days. After the Singapore authorities pressured, the Indonesian government mobilized many military aircraft to pour water on the fires since June 22. So the level of air pollution in Singapore has dropped sharply. The air pollution index is only 77 - average - on June 21, Channel News Asia reported. Meanwhile, the index on the previous day reached 401.

In addition, the Indonesian government also considered the possibility of applying cloud-forming techniques to rain.

Experts from the Indonesian Ministry of Forestry investigated the cause of fires in the forest. Indonesia's Environment Minister, Balthasar Kambuaya, said he doubted six domestic companies caused fires on Sumatra.

"We will take them to court no matter who they are. Whether they come from Indonesia, Malaysia or Singapore, they will still have to stand trial , " he said.
