Indonesian volcanic lava is green
A volcano in Indonesia erupts a blue lava flow created by sulfur burning.

According to IBtimes, Indonesia is a country with very different volcanoes.Kawah Ijen volcanic chain is located on the east of Java island, made up of several different volcanoes. The mountain mouth, about 22km in diameter, spits out an unusually blue lava flow.
The blue color of lava flow is not as mysterious as many people think, it is actually just the basic chemical reactions created . The lava flow is naturally red, but due to the intense heat around and the burning process of sulfur has changed its appearance.

When sulfur is burned by lava flow, it emits blue light. This sulfur is sprayed on the ground from volcanic cracks together with molten rock.
We will have a lot of trouble if we want to take a picture of the volcano for a long time, because the amount of emissions generated by the combustion of sulfur is toxic. In 2013, photographer Olivier Grunewald tried and succeeded, recording images of the volcano for 30 days.
"The spectacle of the fire at night is quite strange and unusual. After many nights in the crater, we feel like living on another planet. The main problem is due to the active acidic gases. in the crater " , Olivier said.
"Night is also a big obstacle, because it obstructs our vision when the thick gas comes in. A few times we get stuck in the gas for more than an hour without seeing our hands. On my first trip, I lost a camera and two lenses due to acidic corrosion. After returning home, our skin took three weeks to clear the sulfur smell. "
