Intel died of chipsets 915 and 865
Intel announced that it will officially stop producing 915 and 910 chipsets in February 2007. And by June 2007 the 865 chipset series will also be killed.
This information has been sent to Intel by the customer via the Product Discontinuation Notice.
This move is also completely consistent with Intel's strategy announced previously. Accordingly, Intel will stop producing all chipsets that are not compatible with Windows Vista.
Included in Intel's list of discontinuation in February is chipset 910GL, 915GL, 915GV / 915GV LF, 915G / 915G LF, 915PL and 915P / 915P LF. The products of line 865 are declared dead including 865PE / 865PE LF, 865P, 865GV / 865GV LF, 848P / 848P LF and 865G / 865G LF.
The 945GC chipset will be replaced by the new integrated chipset. In addition, Intel will launch four new chipsets including G33 and G35 integrated chipsets and standalone P35 and X38 chipsets.
